Gosia Cooks: Noodles with cabbage and mushrooms

Noodles with cabbage and mushrooms is a surprising and delicious combination of aromatic mushrooms with the acidity of sauerkraut and small squares noodles. It tastes good not only for Christmas!


INGREDIENTS:

  • 200 g of small squares noodles.
  • 50 g of dried mushrooms
  • 500 g of sauerkraut
  • 1 onion
  • oil for frying
  • spices: salt and pepper, a teaspoon of sugar

Tips

  1. Wash the mushrooms under running water and soak for several hours, preferably overnight in cold water. Boil them in soaking water for about 20 minutes. Strain.
  2. Rinse the cabbage twice in a sieve, drain it and chop it coarsely.
  3. Dice the peeled onion.
  4. Fry the onion in a frying pan. Add the cabbage and spices. Stir fry for a minute.
  5. Add mushrooms cut into smaller pieces of mushrooms. Then pour about 3/4 cup of water. Cover and boil for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Then uncover and cook for 10 more minutes until the water has evaporated.
  7. Mix with the previously cooked noodles.
