Gosia Cooks: Yeast dumplings with gyros filling
INGREDIENTS:
- 400 g wheat flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 7 g instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 250 g chicken breasts
- gyros seasoning
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 red onion
- 1/2 red pepper
- 1 small tin of tinned corn (170g)
- 100g mozzarella cheese
- 3 tinned cucumbers
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1 egg
- sesame
Tips
Place all the ingredients for the yeast dough in the bowl of a mixer and knead with the dough hook into a smooth dough. Cover with a cloth and set aside in a warm place for an hour.
Cut the chicken meat into small cubes, season with gyros seasoning and fry in oil. Leave to cool. Then add all the vegetables cut into small cubes, ketchup and mozzarella cheese grated on a vegetable peeler.
Roll out the dough and cut out circles of 8 – 10 cm in diameter. Place the filling in the dough and pin together like dumplings. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Cover with a cloth and leave for 20 minutes to rise again. Brush with whisked egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the ravioli in a preheated oven at 250 °C for approx. 8-10 minutes. Serve with your favourite sauces.
