Gosia Cooks: Potato casserole with oscypek cheese
On the occasion of the Polish Diaspora, we offer a dish with a truly Polish addition. See how to prepare a casserole with traditional Polish oscypek.
SKŁADNIKI:
- 1 g of potatoes
- 2 onions
- 2 tablespoons of rapeseed oil
- 100 g of dried tomatoes without marinade
- 100 g of smoked oscypek cheese
- 500 ml cream 18%
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 4 eggs
- salt, pepper, thyme, oregano, sweet pepper
Tips
Peel the potatoes and cook in salted water for 10 minutes. Let cool and cut into slices.
Peel the onion and cut it into cubes. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion briefly until it is translucent. Cut the dried tomatoes into smaller pieces. Grate the oscypek cheese on a vegetable dish with coarse meshes.
In a saucepan, break the eggs, add cream, garlic pressed through the press and spices: salt, pepper, oregano, thyme and paprika. We mix everything up.
Grease the baking tin. Place half of the potatoes in a tile pattern. Sprinkle with half of the fried onion and sun-dried tomatoes. Pour half of the cream-egg mixture. Then we put the second layer: potatoes, onions, sun-dried tomatoes and pour the remaining portion of the mixture. Sprinkle the top with coarsely grated oscypek cheese. We cover the form with aluminum foil. Bake the casserole in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for about 40 minutes (after 30 minutes, remove the foil so that the cheese grills nicely). Bon Appetit!
