Gosia Cooks for Christmas: Gingerbread stained glass
The unique stained glass gingerbreads will not only taste delicious, but also wonderfully decorate the Christmas tree as natural baubles. It can also be a great idea for a sweet gift! 🎄
INGREDIENTS:
- 100 g of butter
- 150 g of honey
- 80 g of sugar
- 400 g of wheat flour
- 20 g gingerbread spice
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 egg
- 300 g of hard candy
Tips:
Put the butter, sugar and honey in a pot and heat it until the butter and sugar dissolve. Set aside to cool down.
Pour flour, baking soda and gingerbread spice into a bowl. Add the egg and melted butter with honey and sugar. We knead the dough until it is smooth and uniform. Wrap the dough in foil and put it in the fridge for about 1 hour.
On a floured board, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3 millimeters. We use molds to cut out gingerbread cookies of various shapes. Cut out the middle with a smaller mold. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
We divide the hard candies by color. We put one color in a bag and break it into smaller pieces (for example, with a rolling pin or a meat pestle). We sprinkle the middle of the gingerbread cookies with crushed candy.
If we want to hang cookies on the Christmas tree, we also make a small hole through which we thread the string, here a plastic straw works best.
Bake the cookies in an oven preheated to 170 ° C for about 8-10 minutes.
Enjoy your meal! 🙂
